Audition Master Class

Join me as I go through the basics of auditioning, choosing a song, acting through song, talking to an accompanist and more. Auditioning can be daunting and often one of the most frustrating parts about this career. As performers we sometimes get hung up on what casting thinks of us, constantly overthinking our song choices and we forget that we are there because we love it. I hope that through this master class I will ease some of the anxieties that come with auditioning and share with you my experiences and how I’ve handled curveballs that were thrown at me, coping skills for nerves, song choices, etc. I have made it my goal as a performer to make auditions enjoyable because it can feel like a full time job during peak audition season. I have reached out to industry professionals to receive coaching for myself over the years. I’ve spoken to directors, other professional actors, music directors (National Tours, Broadway), and Lead Vocal Directors (Celebrity Cruises). I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned from these amazing creatives and what they look for while casting a show.

I will have a special segment during the webinar dedicated to sharing with you an interview that I had with the Lead Vocal Director of Celebrity Cruises, Bill Brown. Bill has been a vocal director, music director, and performer for various cruise lines, regional theaters, Disneyland, Off Broadway, and more. He oversees the vocal auditions around the world for Celebrity Cruises and has an abundance of knowledge to share about what he is looking for specifically while auditioning for all their ships in the fleet.
